Referrals are not necessary – Chiropractors are primary health care providers. We do however readily accept referrals from your medical doctor or GP.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR CHIROPRACTIC APPOINTMENT
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your first visit to Nicholson Health & Wellness will take approximately 40 minutes.
During the first consultation, your chiropractor will spend time with you to understand your full health history, the nature of your condition and form a diagnosis . You will be asked to fill out a health history and the chiropractor will complete a thorough physical examination that includes orthopaedic, chiropractic and postural analysis.
Depending on your diagnosis, treatment may begin on your first visit to the clinic, but first we will discuss all options with you to make sure you are comfortable and fully informed. If you are unsure of anything, you are given time and attention to have any questions or concerns addressed prior to treatment commencing.
Our team of chiropractors are highly trained in a range of effective techniques, carefully matched to suit each individual patient. Our chiropractors use manual adjusting techniques, but can also provide Activator, Blocks, Drop Piece and Soft Tissue Techniques.
X-Rays & Imaging Reports
If x-rays are required, you will be referred for an X-ray (bulk billing is available). If you already have x-rays or imaging reports, please bring them with you to your first consultation.
What to Expect on Your Second Visit
On your second visit, we can give you a more complete idea of how your chiropractor can help you work towards your optimal health. This is called the ‘Report of Findings’. The report correlates X-ray findings along with the initial examination to form a plan of action. This is also a good time to answer any questions arising from the first visit as we discuss and finalise a treatment plan.
