Dr Lisa Ooi

Dr Lisa Ooi is a registered Chinese medicine practitioner and acupuncturist with over 18 years of clinical experience. With a background in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Human Biology, she integrates classical acupuncture principles with modern neuroscience and neuro-rehabilitation approaches to support meaningful, long-term change.

Lisa has a strong clinical interest in neurological conditions, including stroke recovery, Parkinson’s disease, MS, neuropathy, and other nervous system challenges. She also works extensively with musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain, and injury, and is known for her ability to connect nervous system regulation with pain modulation and functional recovery.

Alongside this specialised work, Lisa regularly supports patients with women’s health concerns, gastrointestinal disorders, fertility, pregnancy care, labour induction, stress-related conditions, and complex, overlapping symptoms that don’t fit neatly into a single diagnosis. Her strength lies in seeing the whole picture, how the nervous system, physical body, lifestyle, and emotional health interact, rather than treating symptoms in isolation.

Lisa’s clinical approach is careful, thoughtful, and highly individualised. She believes in working collaboratively with patients and, where appropriate, alongside other healthcare providers to support recovery and improve quality of life. Her treatments may draw on techniques such as Neuroacupuncture, Dr Tan’s Balance Method for pain modulation, Tung’s acupuncture and Neurokinetic Therapy, always tailored to the patient’s unique presentation, capacity, and goals.
